During a 6 month Short-term Assignment, the role prepares Market Plans for 4-6 new and/or existing Markets, focusing on the strategic distribution of Pizza Hut restaurants and maximizing penetration according to Market maturity.
* Prepares Market Plans for new and existing Markets, using accepted YRI methodology and general location criteria.
* Analyses performance experience to date of existing YRI units in relation to location and sales performance (target Market, frequency, day part trading).
* Obtains data on retail areas, traffic generators, and competitor locations.
* Obtains data on traffic patterns and activity (shopping, employment, leisure) by day part.
* Obtains reliable demographic data (population count, age, income, household structure, etc.), traffic data (vehicle and pedestrian), and economic data from official institutions.
* Obtains sales information on competitors.
* Analyses all above data and information on the Market, and on the basis of conclusions drawn prepares a comprehensive blueprint for development of the Market.
Presents a final Market Plan including:
* Plan Rationale (standard presentation)
* Schedule of Development
* Trade Area Summary for each proposed location
* Map with overlays (showing existing YRI locations, competitors, main retail strips, traffic generators, demographics, proposed locations, and trade areas)
* Special Analyses
University graduate with business studies background or similar person with analytical abilities
EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):
* Rich GIS systems experience
* Appreciation of restaurant or retail business dynamics
* Analytical Ability — Understand and assimilate many types of different information (retail dynamics, traffic generation, competitors, demographics, etc.) and appreciate how Market forces, in relation to restaurant location, can impact potential sales
* Methodical Worker — Gather data and categorize data (see above)
* Self-motivated and Independent Individual — Project-manage plan, follow through on gathering data, and complete the plan according to standard and in time frame agreed
* Communication Skills — Obtain information from internal and external sources and present plan. Train Field Assistants to perform the field work. Present the Market Planning Process and finally the Market Plan to Senior Management.
* Computer Skills — Analyze data and prepare presentation (spreadsheet, typing, and presentation applications)
