The Senior Manager of Design & Architecture must be able to develop and execute strategies to effectively respond to the changing development and business needs of the Brand. This position will report to the Director of Development Strategy & Transformation and work very closely with the global Director of Design and Innovation. This will also partner closely with Brand leadership, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Purchasing/Supply Chain, and the broader Development Team on matters relating to development strategy and new corporate initiatives. This position must effectively coordinate and build consensus among franchisees and cross-functional partners to create and build competitive advantage for Pizza Hut via the physical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Image: Responsible for the execution, and protection of the Brand Image as it relates to physical assets. This position will head a team of design professionals and coordinate with cross functional partners to create and steward the complete aesthetic for the various restaurant environments of the Pizza Hut brand nationwide encompassing both traditional and non-traditional asset formats.
Prototype Execution: Serve as the keeper of the Brand's global asset prototypes and asset standards for all asset types. These various asset prototypes will evolve frequently to support value engineering, design updates, functional upgrades (including Back of House/kitchen operations and equipment changes), brand positioning elements, decor and signage. Prototypical documents including asset books, design manuals, construction documents, costing information and equipment ordering models are made available to Franchisees on the development website www.PizzaHutPlans.com, or communicated periodically systemwide at franchise conferences, webinars, and Hut Link resources.
Remodel Programs: Provide strategic design leadership to adapting the multitude of legacy prototype designs with compelling and affordable remodel solutions and programs to transform and modernize the estate. This will require a high level of collaboration with the broader organization to incorporate all license and franchise agreement requirements to the design while preserving the best and most cost-effective components of the design.
Partner Support: Lead all efforts of their team related to supporting & influencing franchisees and licensees as it relates to design and development of the restaurants. This includes design support, design approval, and post-construction certification.
Sourcing: Responsible for developing & maintaining sourcing options for all brand required furniture, fixtures, and equipment in conjunction with the brand's sourcing cooperative. This requires leading the Restaurant Design Team to identify and specify signage, furniture, fixtures, equipment and décor and collaborate with the purchasing and supply chain team to find sourcing options that meet the budgets and timelines of the Brand.
Required Qualifications:
- You will be required to attend the Plano, TX office 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Proven experience in rolling out programs and managing physical asset portfolios with brand in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Min. 10 years applicable work experience, expertise in architectural and construction materials or Engineering, means and methods.
- Develop and execute strategies to effectively respond to the changing development and business needs of the Brand.
- Effectively coordinate and build consensus among franchisees and cross-functional partners to create and build competitive advantage for Pizza Hut via the physical assets.
- People first mindset; an inspiring and positive leader with experience managing a team of professional.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface directly with and influence Franchisees, Leadership Team members, and cross-functional partners.
- Financial acumen - understands the business side of the brand and retail category.
- Organizational and project management skills.
- Proactive and curious at understanding emerging business trends, including relevant consumer and competitor trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA highly desirable.
- Preferred degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design or related field preferred.
- Commercial restaurant and/or retail design experience highly preferred.
Salary Range: $139,000 to $147,150 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
