PURPOSE
Restaurant Brands seeks an experienced IT Director, based in Hawaii, to support our Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operations across California. Our brands are KFC and Taco Bell. This critical role ensures responsive technological support, optimized store performance, and alignment with global IT strategies. The successful candidate will act as the go-to regional technology partner for operational leaders, vendors, and global teams, helping scale and modernize our digital infrastructure.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Individual
• Oversee all in-store technology platforms (POS, networking, CCTV, kiosks, Wi-Fi, payment systems).
• Act as the primary IT liaison for California-based store managers and area coaches.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical issues by coordinating with L1/L2 helpdesks and external vendors. Including Yum Brands.
• Manage IT components of store openings, refurbishments, upgrades, and hardware lifecycle.
• Own local vendor and service provider relationships, including performance monitoring and SLA enforcement.
• Support budgeting, asset tracking, and reporting for California store technology operations.
• Provide regular updates to the CIO on incident trends, performance risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Drive execution of compliance programs (e.g. PCI, patching) and local pilot rollouts.
• Deliver a communications plan and drive improved day-to-day insights into the needs of our US business.
• Supporting the CIO in building relationships across the global IT team at RBD
• Maintain an eye on market, dynamics and technology opportunities for our QSR business
• Support the President and Finance Director in ongoing IT strategy, and choices.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and liaise with CIO and local Finance Director on delivery of those
• Day to day oversight of the California IT environment. Operational stability, and observability into the uptime and health of all technology in use in Restaurants.
• Support and deliver the migration to O365 and decommissioning of legacy storage, servers and non-standard technologies in California.
• Document the architecture and technology current state and target state
• Help build the roadmap for California and align with the CIO on standards and choices.
• Cloud & API first mindset for IT services to the business on new tech services

• Collaborate with functions to identify requirements and opportunities and translate them to the technology platforms.
